Since 2006, Darrell has served as manager and coordinator for the Center for Academic Excellence (CAE) collaborative infrastructure and has taken the traditional video conferencing service in a direction that allows for a customizable collaborative delivery across most end-user platforms: laptops, tablets, and mobile devices.

In his role, Darrell is responsible for the management of Anne Belk Hall, IT suite 106 A-D, and the technology assigned to support the deliverables necessary to meet the instructional expectations and achieve the goals of campus constituency as well as coordinating IT logistics and strategies with on-and-off campus participants. As part of these responsibilities, he consults the campus community to more efficiently and effectively meet their administrative, scholarly, and academic pursuits through the use of these formats and the best practices for using these deliverables.

Darrell earned his Bachelor of Science in Electronic Media from Appalachian State University, holds a Certified Technology Specialist certificate (ANSI accredited), and is currently working on his master's degree in Educational Media at Appalachian State University.
