VITAL Faculty (Visiting, Instructors, Temporary, Adjunct, and Lecturers)

Primary tabs

Approximately 40% of faculty at Appalachian hold full-time or part-time non-tenure track appointments. At many institutions, non-tenure track faculty are denied the same faculty development opportunities as the tenure-track faculty. This is definitely not the case at the Center for Academic Excellence.

If you are interested in joining with other VITAL faculty for community, career opportunities, and social gatherings, please email Lillian Nave at to join the VITAL Faculty Community Asulearn page. We use this platform to meet each other, introduce ourselves, and send out announcements to our VITAL Faculty colleagues.

We offer a variety of workshops, conferences, webinars, and other professional development tools for staff, non-tenure track, tenure-track, tenured, and administrative faculty alike.
