Kaltura Media Platform Pilot

Video and audio media has become an increasingly important tool in higher education, both in the classroom and out. Kaltura offers a market-leading media platform, media player, and wide array of media solutions, leveraging media to teach, learn, communicate, collaborate, and entertain.

Their range of education products include virtual classrooms, personal capture and lecture capture, webinars and live events, learning on the go, and student outreach. Media can easily be trimmed, clipped, grouped into playlists, and enhanced with captions, video quizzes, hotspots, chapters, slides and more. The platform includes advanced video analytics that provide content owners a high level of granularity and insight on engagement and content effectiveness to support student outcomes.

Appalachian State University is piloting Kaltura through fall 2020. The pilot integration with AsULearn is available now. Faculty and staff interested in using it can watch the recorded training sessions for Moodle and reach out to their college consultant for support as needed.

The MediaSpace pilot is also currently available. Faculty and staff interested in using it can watch the recorded training sessions for MediaSpace and reach out to Darrell Laws (lawsbd@appstate.edu) for support as needed.
