Inclusive Excellence Consultant Visit

damon williamsWell renowned Inclusive Excellence Consultant, Dr. Damon Williams will be joining Appalachian State University for a three day residency in Fall 2018. Dr. Williams has written numerous books and articles on Inclusive Excellence Initiatives in Higher Education and with Fortune 500 Companies. He has worked as an Associate Vice Chancellor, Vice Provost and Chief Diversity Officer for University of Wisconsin-Madison, Inclusive Excellence Strategy Leader with the AAC&U, and Chief Diversity Officer with American Council on Education.

From August 27-29, Dr. Williams will work with us in multiple capacities, including delivering a keynote, working across divisions, and holding separate working groups for Deans and Associate/Assistant Deans, Department Chairs, and faculty.

Some of the work that he will support us with will include:

  • Diversifying, serving, and retaining students/staff/faculty
  • Working through generational and cultural gaps
  • Developing measurable performance indicators
  • Assessing achievement and success
