Spring Service-Learning Faculty Fellowship

App State faculty are invited to participate in the service-learning faculty fellows program. Participation in the cohort involves attending workshops focused on discussing the foundations of civic engagement, syllabus design, service-learning course objectives, appropriate reflections/writing assignments for service-learning classes, nuts-and-bolts of community involvement, and the role of civic engagement in tenure and promotion.

Although unintentional, we have all committed subtle acts of exclusion (SAE, a.k.a. microaggressions) which can alienate our colleagues, students, and friends. These actions and phrases often go unaddressed and are harmful. Join us in learning how to spot and address stereotypes, objectification, and other forms of microaggressions that separate instead of uniting.
