Book Club: Digital Minimalism

Friday, January 28, 2022 - 12:00pm to Friday, March 25, 2022 - 1:00pm
Online in Zoom

We’ve spent the last year and a half amping up the technology in our lives, hopefully for the better. But most of us would probably agree that some of the frazzle and fatigue we feel is coming from our increased screen time and the blurring of work-life balance lines. It’s nice to have learned some more flexible ways to work, but it comes at a cost. We’ve suddenly filled our metaphorical shopping buggy with all the technical things. Is it time to sort through and put some of them back on the shelf, for ourselves, and maybe even for our students?

Making Your AsULearn Pages Look Fancy

Thursday, January 27, 2022 - 1:00pm to 2:00pm
Online in Zoom

Although there's a lot more to an effective AsULearn course page than aesthetics, sometimes, you just want things to look nice. In this hour-long workshop, you'll learn how to use a free www.canva.com account to create custom graphics for your course graphic (i.e., the display graphic on your AsULearn dashboard), your course header (i.e., what students see when they first open your course), and your topics (i.e., the graphics that display in topics mode). You'll leave the workshop having created course graphics of your own and having experimented with applying them in various ways.
